    2. Rootsweb is working on a way to permanently block this individual; however, as you well know, this is difficult when people can change e-mail addresses, falsify addresses, etc very easily. As admin for the Greenwood board I deleted her message, but I can't stop it being posted to the Greenwood mailing list since that is automatic at this point. So for the time being, use your delete key. Thanks, Suzanne Collins Matson List-admin

    1. [SCGREENW] ROSELANDS
    2. Judith Brabham
    3. Hello, Recently, I learned of a "large plantation" known as Roselands which was purchased in the 1840's, I believe, by Whitfield BROOKS (1789-1851) of Newberry who moved to Roselands with his wife, Mary Parsons CARROLL, in 1849. Roselands was located "south of Cambridge" (the name to which today's Ninety-six was changed temporarily) "along what is now state highway 246." My questions concerning Roselands are: can anyone give me more precise location coordinates for Roselands; and would the land and other records for Roselands be found in Edgefield, Greenwood or Abbeville County? Also, could someone direct me to the location of the 1866 census/tax filings(?) that were required by the state of South Carolina? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
