    2. The Greenville News Jan. 5, 1923 William T. Burns Summoned by Death William Thomas Burns, one of the older residents of this county, and a native of Greenville, died at 7 o'clock Thursday night at his home, 15 miles from Greenville, after several months of failing health. Mr. Burns was seventy-five years of age, and served in teh Confederate army during the latter years of the Civil war as a member of the 16th SC regiment. Following the war he returned home and was married to Miss Harriet Russell, who survives him, with the following sons and daughters: H.T. and S. L. Burns, Mrs. Eula Mayfield, Mrs Annie Forrest, Mrs. Jeter Styles, all of Greenville county. He was a member of Ebenezer church and his funeral services will be held from the church near Travelers Rest, Saturday at noon. The Rev. Mr. Jolly will officiate and the interment will be in the church cemetery. according to his death ceritifcate, his father was Baylis Burns. Leigh C.
