Burns, Familiar Figure in West End Passes Away William Thomas Burns, for many years a jeweler and watchmaker of Greenville died Sunday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. H. Nesbitt, No. 71 Allen Street, Dunean Mills. Mr. Burns had been in failing health for eighteen months. He was 76 years of age, and had been a familiar figure in the business life of the West End section for a long while. Mr. Burns is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. H. Nesbitt, and Mrs. J. Fred Stewart of this city, and Mrs. R. C. Collins of Clinton, SC. A son, Mr. L. E. Burns of Greenville, and one brother Mr. M. G. Burns of Greenville, and a sister, Mrs. Ann Simmons of Lowell, N.C. also survives him. Mr. Burns was a member for many years of St. Mary's Catholic church. The funeral services will be at 8 o'clock Monday afternoon from St. Mary's church, and the interment will be made in Springwood cemetery. Rev. Father O'Neill will officiate. Leigh C.
