    3. I would love to have a copy of that. Please let me know how much to send for a copy and I will get it to you asap! Thanks for sharing that story. It really makes the people we are researching more than just a name in a family tree! Tonya Thompson [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, March 29, 2005 7:57 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [SCGREENV] Archibald FOWLER Archie (Archibald) FOWLER was said to be a short fellow and very cordial with a frequent joke. His wife did all the horse-raising (w/11 children!) and horse-trading and was known in her day for her skill in the trade. They had a lucrative business because of her (late 1700s-1800s, folks, and she was a woman!). When Leah and Rachael, the set of twins who I descend from (Leah), were young, they looked identical and must have been identical twins. They enjoyed playing tricks on people and switching identities. One night when John "Flint John" MAHAFFEY was courting Leah, Leah was not ready so Rachael slipped down to the porch and sat on the swing with him and let him think she was Leah. This went on for quite a while and then Leah showed up on the porch, they all had a good laugh on poor John. Just one of those neat stories that has survived and helps to make these ancestors three-dimensional rather than just a name on a piece of paper, and I thought you might enjoy reading it. Their children: Jessefy Rachael Leah John West/Wesley Mary West Isaac Lovey Lavina "Vina" Louisa (twins) Luna (twins) Alexander W. Mary and John are said to be the third set of twins. I found most of the above in the book "Miller-Everhart" book which I have and can document if anyone needs it. There is a chapter on Archibald's family.
