I was adopted and just found out nearly 9 months ago that I am a Buchanan descendant. I met my birth mother and she gave me a book with names of descendants and their children - but no dates. Here's what I found concerning the list of names that you provided (if you are indeed related to these people - we're cousins!!). William Clelle Buchanan: he married Elsie Ruth Johnson (I'm kin to the Johnsons as well.) Clelle's parents were William Harding Jones Buchanan and Marie Dunn (my birth mother is married to a Dunn). Their children were James Clelle Buchanan (m. Betty Ann Summey) (they had children William Franklin and James Christopher - who is deceased); Anthony Curtis Buchanan (m. Mary Lancianese) and John Mark Buchanan. Clelle's siblings were Richard Curtis, Marvin Carroll and Keith Carlton Buchanan. His grandparents were William Greenberry Buchanan and Lilly Malelle Miller. They were my great-great-grandparents. William Greenberry Buchanan (1864-1935); Lilly Malelle Miller (1870-1943). There's a Grover C. Buchanan listed who married Laura Bryant. He was the son of Joseph Philmore Buchanan (1870-1938) and Jane Hughes (1886-1930). Joseph was the brother of William Greenberry Buchanan. (Making Joseph my great-great-great uncle.) Grover and Laura had a son: Lawrence Buchanan (m. Frances Barnett)(ch. Roe and Tom) Grover married second to Patricia Hill. Their children were: Clarence Buchanan (m. Ruth Hunt)(ch. Norma) Alma Buchanan (m. John Hart) Lois Buchanan (m. Ralph Knight)(ch. C.G., Grover C. and Patricia, who married Donnie Deck) Granvil Buchanan (that's the spelling in the book. I'm not sure that's correct.). He married Bertha Lawa. He was the brother of Grover C. above, also son of Joseph Philmore Buchanan and Jane Hughes. Granvil and Bertha's children were: Doris Buchanan (m. Walt Owens) Joe Buchanan (died young) Bernice Buchanan (m. David Sloan) J.B. Buchanan (m. Marie Turner) J.M. Buchanan (m. Julia Free) Ed Buchanan (m. Elizabeth Byrd) The only thing I found on a Woodrow was Woodrow Buchanan, son of Henry Buchanan - who was the brother of Grover and Granvil. Woodrow had a brother named Joe. Do you know where you fit in? I'd be interested to know if we're closely related. I have one sister that was born before me, Angie Dunn Capps (m. Mike Capps). Her father was an O'Shields. Pat and Ron have 2 daughters, Karen Dunn Bratcher (m. Frank Bratcher) and Michelle Dunn.
