This is our history in that small peice of land. Alice "Mamie" Kemp is buried there, she was an Elementary School teacher that graduated from the Reidville Women's College in the 1870s. Her father was killed in the Civil War. I have her Report cards from the College. Even though she was not related to our family, she lived with my mother's family for many years until her death. She died in her sleep in favorite rocking chair. My mother was named after her because her family had been friends of my mothers family for over a hundred years. Every thing she owned was willed to mother. If anyone is related to Mamie Kemp, please email me at Slimd49001@aol.com. I have a lot of documents and pictures on her that someone may want copies of.
