Rhoda, do you know anything of William Toney? I'm not kin, but he is mentioned in a history of First Baptist Church of Greenville as having set my ggg grandfather Samuel Gibson up on a plantation/farm , they must have needed ministers here. He is called in the book ,"Colonel William Tony". Would this be the same William Tony? This info was written by the biographer of Dr. William B. Johnson, a man who did much to lay the foundations for First Baptist of G'vlle, but left the area late in 1830. Thanks, Susan Finlay
