Can anyone help me with this problem: My grandmother filled out her mother's death certificate and you would believe the information is correct. However, she listed her father as William Williams and on the census records I found him listed as Jesse Williams. She listed her mother's mother as Mary Young and on the census I found her listed as Elizabeth A. Mary could have been her step mother. Annie married William T. Bradford and moved from Dodge City, Kansas to Beaumont, Texas. Here is what I have on Jesse: Jesse William Williams or William Jesse Williams: born in N.Carolina abt. 1831, father from Virginia. Married, in Tenn., Elizabeth A., born in Tenn, abt 1845. Parents of Elizabeth unkown, Parents of Jesse unknown. Children: John W. b. 1861, Illinois; William B., b. 1863, Kentucky or Tenn., married Minnie Patton, 21 Dec 1887, Dodge City, Kansas; Jesse Frank, b. 1864, Kentucky; Robert G., b. 1867, Tenn., d. in Carlton, Kansas; Annie (Mary Annie) b. 12 Aug, 1868, Tenn. or Kentucky, d. 29 Jun 1942, Lawton, Oklahoma, married William Tucker Bradford, 1 Nov., 1888, Dodge City,Kansas, divorced, married Perez, married Alonzo Whaley; Lettie Virginia, b 2 Feb 1870, Tenn, or Kentucky, died in Garden City, Kansas, married Suggs, Burrell, 1907 H. L. Dern; Laura E., b. 1872, married 9 Sept 1891, John Howell, Dodge City, Kansas, moved to California; Leona B. (Lenna, Lou), b. 1875, Kentucky, died possibly Arkansas, married a Kendall. Found Jesse Williams , wife Elizabeth Alford marriage on the Cherokee Blood Index. How do I verify that this is my Jesse. I have found Jesse Williams, 28, Elizabeth A. 16, Henry J. 7, and Idilla 4/12 in the 1860 Tenn. census. Elizabeth would have only been 9 years old when Henry was born. Are they all brothers and sisters, orpahns or was Henry J. a brother of Jesse or Elizabeth. In all of the other census, Kentucky and Kansas, Idilla is not listed.
