    1. [SCGREENV] Brandon Mill Cemetery?? relative? cem.book? WPA list?
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: SMITH BLACKWELL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UeB.2ACI/3145 Message Board Post: Hello all, Please, I hope someone can help! I would like any info on anyone or all who are buried at Brandon Cemetery, previosuly owned by the mill. The Historic restored Brandon Mill, Shoeless Joe, monuments, but what abt the Cemetery????? If only Shoeless Joe would have been buried at Brandon, or "anyone famous" buried there, there would be an option for Historical site. Otherwise you can just plant your garden there or whatever. More than "several" of my relatives are buried there, including my ancestors, Haywood SMITH and his wife Mary Ann BLACKWELL. With it being a mill cemetery, I can only imagine how many were buried there, surely not just our Smith relatives. Now "privately" owned with "No Trespassing" signs up, family members are not allowed to go on property, even to take a picture. If there is no existing list in a cemetery book, etc. then what? I have heard that my ancestor, Haywood Smith's tombstone had an emblem on it and they said that perhaps it could be Confederate. I have a copy of really old photo of the tombstone but it doesn't show the engravings well at all. I thought that maybe if listed in a book, maybe there would be a note about the emblem. I also would very much like to hear from anyone who has relatives or knows of anyone buried at Brandon Cemetery. Any info at all will be greatly appreciated, Pat Wells
