They had children named Madison, Phelix, Nannie, Roxie, Judge, Maria, Rosa, and Hattie. Judge Sherman was my grandfather, born January 16, 1895 in Greenville and died October 17, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He married Lillie (LIla) Smith (7/28/1898 - 12/8/1964). Lillie was the daughter of John Kelly Smith (4/13/1867 - 4/1/1942) and Ida T. Arnold (Smith) (1878 -1912). John Kelly Smith's mother was Odosha (Docia) Smith (1850-1922) of Greenville. Ida Tosca Arnold was the daughter of Harrison Aronold (1849-1920) and Amanda Sullivan (Arnold) (1837- 1923). Most of them are African American with some connections to a Native American people (probably Cherokee).
