I didn't know whether to request lookups for obituaries since they are rather "aged". If there is online link to those records I would appreciate the address. Thanks. I have a question about who to contact for an obituary of 3 people interred in Pelzer Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson Co., SC. 1) Listed as Betty Eastep/Teasner in the Book of the Dead but was married to James M. Tesner. Betty b 1881 in TN and d 12/8 1934 in Greenville Co., SC. 2) Listed as Frank Tesner b 1896, I believe in TN, d June 4, 1949 in Anderson Co., SC. 3) Listed as J(ames) M. Tesner/Tesnear b 1849 in NC and d June 28, 1931 in Greenville Co., SC. (This is the one which could put a link in the chain.) Uncertain which newspapers would carry the obituaries for that time period or even if a library would carry copies/film of those papers. (Spartanburg Library carries Spartanburg Co.) The Tesner name might even be listed as Tesnear/Tesner/Teasner. Alot of different spelling abound for our family name. Any and all guidance would be appreciated. John G. We have these newspapers on microfilm -- if you can come to us, we'll be happy to help you look them up (the South Carolina Room is on the second floor of the Hughes main library in downtown Greenville). If you aren't able to come here but want copies made, email me off-list and I will send you our research request form and details about how to order copies of obituaries. If you just want the information, but don't need a copy, I'll be happy to do a lookup for you and let you know what the obits say -- again, contact me off-list.
