I know that some of you have contacted me in regards to the following HOLDER family that moved to Pickens Co. fr. Greenville Co. when they became orphans. The parents of these children were Lewis HOLDER and Mary Ann GOODLETT HOLDER. Lewis HOLDER died in May, 1860, of pneumonia and left her [I believe that she died ~1865] with the following children: Caroline HOLDER, b. 1847, md. Warren J. PORTER *Benjamin HOLDER, b. 1849, [not the same as the Benjamin who md. Efilene] John Ervin HOLDER, b. 1852, md. Mary Elizabeth GRAVELEY *Franklin P. HOLDER, b.1854 *Rachael HOLDER, b. ~1856 Mary Ann HOLDER, b. 1857, md. George Smith PORTER [my line] David Spartan HOLDER, b. 1859, md. Elizabeth COOPER *Richard Lewis HOLDER, b. Jan., 1861 [after father's death], may have md. Cornelia L. "Nealy" ROPER I have info on only the following children above: Caroline, John Ervin, Mary Ann, and David Spartan HOLDER. Those with asterisks (*) beside the name are the ones that I have nothing on other than census info. If anyone out there has any info on any of these HOLDER children, would you please be in touch with me? I would love to have more info, of any kind, on them. It may be that some of them died young; I just cannot find out what happened to them. Some of them may have even moved back to Greenville Co. after they were older. Just anything will be great! Thank you! Godspeed... Dolores M. Pringle - Mary Ann HOLDER and George Smith PORTER were my great-grandparents
