I am researching John B. McDowell who was born in S.C. on Feb. 8, 1802. The earlist I have him is 1836 when he married Lettishia (sp. many ways) Burch in Pike County MO.. In the 1840 Federal Census they are living in Pike Co MO with neighbors DeLayette J. and Willoughby Almond also from South Carolina. From that point on they were tied together through many legal papers. I was able to find out that DeLayette and Willoughby were sons of Austin Almond who was from Greenville County, so I am hoping someone out there will have information on the McDowells from Greenville Co, it may even be that the McDowells and the Almond were related Thanks for your help Donna Kellock
