We are trying to contact other members of the David Brock family descendants who orginiated in Greenville, SC in the 1780's and then travelled to other states by the 1830 census includeding Cherokee Co., Georgia, Campbell co. Georgia, Calhoun co., AL, Forseyth co., AL Pulaski co., MO, and some remained in Greenville. Here is father David's will which lists his children: 1839-David Brock's will In the Name of God Amen I David Brock of the district of Greenville and the state of South Carolina being in my usual health and understanding and be desirous of making disposition of such worldy estate as it hath pleased God to help me with in this life do make and ordain the following to be my last will and testament herby revoking and making void all former wills by me made I-At my death I recommend my soul be disposed of by a merciful and beneficent God through his son Jesus Christ and my body to be decently buried by my children and friend 2--I give and bequeath unto my son Lawrence Brock and my son in law Alfred Gilreath in trust for the sold use and benefit of my daughter Juliet Burns during her natural life my nigro girl Dorcas and her increase from t he date of this will the aforesaid trustees to have sole control and management of the aforesaid negro and increase at their discretion for the sole benefit of my aforesaid daughter Juliet Burns and her family during her the said Juliet's life and at her death the said negro girl and increase if any to be equally divided among the legal children of my said daughter Juliet and then and in that case the said negro girl and increase to return to my estate and be equally divided among all my then living children or their representatives the representatives of any of my children to take share that their parent or parents would have taken if living. 3--I give and dequeath unto my daughter Nancy my negro boy Ned to her and her heirs forever 4--I give and bequeath unto my daughter Evidocia Gilreath and her heirs forever five hundred dollars to be paid to her as soon as convenient after my decrease and should I previous to my death deliver to her a negro of any kind it is to be considered in lieu of this legacy 5--I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Waddill in addition to what I have already given her four hundred dollars to her and her heirs forever. 6 and lastly I will and bequeath the whole residue of my estate of every kind to be sold by my esecutor and after paying any debts and expenses that may be against my estate to be divided into seven equal shares one of which is to go to my son George Brock one to my son Lawrence Brock, one to my son William Brock, one to my son Henry Brock, one to my son John Brock, one to the legal heirs of my son Walker Brock decd and the other or last share to legal heirs of my daughter Mary Duncan decd to them and their heirs forever. I do hereby nominate and appoint my son in law Alfred Gilreath to be my whole and sole acting executor whilst he lives and in case of his death my son Lawrence Brock to take th e management of my estate from that time as executor In testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of May A.D. 1839 Signed sealed published and declared by the testator in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses Jno Watson Elias L.
