Patience Elizabeth Powell was married first to Mr. ? Neal and they had a son named Elock(s)? and second she married to Randolph Ervin Grice. Yes she was residing in Greenville in 1880 as far as what I know. She is said to be buried in the Enoree? Baptist Church Cemetery. I am not sure if she was born in Greenville or not, all I know is she was born in SC, her mother was born in SC, her father was born in TN and her son was born in SC. Could your Patience Elizabeth Powell above possibly have been a granddaughter of Rev. Stephen Powell (1786-1878)of Greenville (Stephen Powell was born in VA)? Rev. Powell was my gggg grandfather. His first wife was Patience Bomar (also born in VA). They were the parents of my ggg grandmother Martha Powell who married Benjamin Boling. Benjamin and Martha named one of their daughters Patience Elizabeth Boling. John Washington Boling, my gg grandfather and a son of Benjamin and Martha, named one of his daughters Patience. Rev. Stephen Powell and Patience had sons named Edward, William, and Thomas. Edward married Malinda Burns on Jan 15, 1839. William married Frances Dill on Mar. 30, 1839. Thomas married a Hawkins on Nov. 28, 1844. In Rev. Stephen Powell's old Bible, a Patience Powell is listed as being born on June 20, 1847. Check the 1850 Greenville census records to see if any of these sons had a daughter named Patience who might be the age of your Patience Elizabeth Powell. Brenda Roberts Shelton
