The writer was Jeff D. Mck. who I am going to assume is Jeff D. McKinney, who is buried at New Liberty. I checked the New Liberty Cemetery and cannot find anyone who died in March of 1903. Does anyone know if this is a son of Jeff D. McKinney? SOURCE: Greenville Daily News DATE: Tuesday, March 31, 1903 GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN March 29th, 1903. Age twenty-five years and some months. He had suffered more or less for the last nine months from a fall from a mule. He bore his suffering without a murmur. He has for several years been a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. He lived up to his profession. Another faithful servant of the lord has gone to recieve the welcome plaudit. "Enter there into the joy of the God". He loved his Church and Sunday School and was a faithful worker in both. Undemostrative yet sincere, not obtrusive but constant and zealous. He was a young man of few words, but had a warm and tender heart. This young man was beyond the ordinary in many respects. As a young man in the social circle his influence was always for God. He will be greatly missed in his home, Church, community and his many friends who mourn their loss with unstinted sorrow. "Sleep on, beloved, sleep, and take thy rest; Lay down thy head upon thy Savior's breast; We loved thee well, but Jesus loves thee best. Until the shadows from this earth are cast; Until he gathers in His sheaves at last; Until the twilight gloom be over fast. Until we meet again before his throne Clothed in the spotless robe, He gives his own. UIntil we know even as we are known Good night Jeff D. Mck.
