Are you familiar with a Joseph Davis who married a Sarah (Roberts?) I think she was a Roberts. They left S.C. about 1831-33 and went to Al. Sarah was born abt. 1809, not sure about Joseph Davis age, he died in 1837. They had one dau. born in S.C. that I'm sure of, her name was Ann Nancy b. abt.1830. They had 3 children that I'm pretty sure of in Al., Eliza T. b.1834, Elizabeth b. abt. 1835, and Joseph b. abt. 1837. They should be on the 1830 S.C. Census, but I have not been able to find them.
