Absolom/Absolem Johnston & wife, Jane, migrated from Greenville Dist., SC to Livingston Co., KY by Livingston Co. 1806 tax list. He became a resident of Caldwell Co., KY when it was formed. He was in Grnv. Dist. for the 1790 & 1800 census. He bought 60a Reedy fork, Reedy Riv., 7 Sep 1801 from Augustin Sims. Wit: Frederic Farmer, Absalom ((X) Farmer. (DB F:408) Absalom Johnson [sic] sold this tract 19 Nov 1801 to Frederick Farmer. Wit: Clayborn Swillivant [sic], William Berry. Jane Johnston, wife of Absalom, was exam 2 Mar 1802. S/ Jame (X) Johnston. (DB F:409) (Greenville Dist. deeds abstracted by pbc) Absolom died c 1844-45, probably Caldwell Co., KY. Their children were: 1. Isaac Johnston (c 1792-1837, Calloway Co., KY) m Caldwell Co., KY Charlotte Baker, dau. of James Baker. 2. Absolom Johnston, Jr. ( c 1798-c1838, possibly Calloway Co., KY) m Sylvia Baker, sister of Charlotte. 3. Elisha Johnson b c 1803, d possibly in Massac Co., IL, m 1821 Caldwell Co., KY, Lutilda Baker, sister of Charlotte & Sylvia. He m (2) Massac Co., IL, Mrs. Martha Fowler 4. Levi Johnston , d c 1869, m 1821, Caldwell Co., KY, Sarah Brown 5. Obediah Johnston m (1) 1827, Callaway Co., KY, Sally Entriken 6. Lard Johnston (c 1796-c 1856) m 1 Feb 1819, Betty Robinson 7.
