San Souci was at one time the estate of Governor Richard Perry, and in 1905 became the Sans Souci Country Club, which later was moved to Augusta Street. New homes were constructed in the San Souci area in the 1920's in an effort to expand the city of Greenville. I think this is where the present day San Souci got its name but not sure. Susan
