My gggrandfather, DeMarcus Roland Poole, (of the Pettypooles, Pettipool/Pool/ETC of Greenville county, more specifically Travelers Rest), wrote a letter on 25 Dec 1861 from Camp Walter, Wapoo (prob Wappoo) Cut off of Charleston, SC. It is on the 16th Reg of Greenville site and has been for years. He was first in the Palmetto Battery Light Artillery. From some study of this group it was very small and disbanded after the War really got going and organized. I saw a picture of "some" of this group of men about 7 years ago. Anyway, I know there are so many of my relatives/researchers on this lineage, so does anyone know of this picture? There are about 20-30 men in this picture. I knew one of the men could be my gggrandfather, DeMarcus, but now from my husband's research of PBLA, it was very small and DeMarcus WAS more than likely in this picture. Have any Poole researchers or WAR researchers seen this picture or know of it? I still do not have a picture of DeMarcus. Needless to say it's something I really want. I apologize for my wordiness.
