Minerva had married John Iras Jones following the death of Alexander Fowler in 1838. Eda is listed as 9 years old. In the 1860 Census for Clear Spring, Greenville, South Carolina: J B Westmoreland, age 25, blacksmith, born in South Carolina Eda A Westmoreland, age 26, housekeeper Henrietta Westmoreland, age 1 I checked the 1860 household for Minerva Walker Fowler Jones, but there was no male under the age of 15 in the household. I looked in 1870 and this household has a J.J. Moore that would seem to be the closest match. Located in Butler township, Greenville, South Carolina: Wm Moore, age 78 Mary Moore, age 40 M C Moore, age 18, Female J J Moore, age 14, male J D Moore, age 8, Male L M James, age 3, Female M L James, age 3, Female I have a J.J. Moore in my records that married E. Annie Watson. Is this the same Moore for which you are searching ? Do you know when James Brockman Westmoreland died ? I did not see him in 1870 Census. - Tim www.UpstateAncestry.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
