    3. Hi all, I've emailed the woman who is coordinating the Greenville County records digitization project to let her know that some users are having problems accessing the images online. I don't know how much can be done on the County's end if the problem is with AOL, but in any case I thought it was best they know that this issue exists. Author: CoriDulmage Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.southcarolina.counties.greenville/6474.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Ms. McManus, I looked in our index of The Greenville News and didn't find an obit for Cecilia Kearney. Just to be certain, I looked at the actual newspapers for March 17th through the 21st, but no luck there, either. Is it possible that she had family in a different part of the country who would have published an obituary in their local newspaper? I did check the Newsbank database, which contains electronic versions of about 800 newspapers from around the country, but I didn't find an obituary for her there, either. If you know she had family outside of the Greenville area, I'd recommend looking around where they live. She might have been buried in that area, as well - you can check with local funeral homes. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly. 1. [SCGREENV] Meeks Family
    2. Looking for information regarding the following family: 1850 Census / Greenville County Meeks, William / 52 / M / Laborer / b. SC Jane / 40 Emily / 25 Leander / 24 / M / laborer Mary / 23 Nancy ? 25 or 22 Wilson / 19 Matilda / 17 Ellen / 14 Amanda / 12 Helin ? / Male / 12 Thomas / 10 Jane / 8 James / 6 My question is this - I want to know if the daughter "Nancy" is the same Nancy Martha Meeks who married Benjamin Franklin Perry Kellett and died in 1866? She is supposedly buried in an unmarked grave in the Babb-Kellett Cemetery. I found a Confederate pension record dated 1919 for a L.B. Meeks served 20th SC Co A and his wife is listed as Lucinda. There is also one for a James Sullivan Meeks - Hampton's Legion. James is buried at Springwood. L.B. Meeks ( 18 Mar 1826 - 29 Jul 1872) and his wife, Lucinda Autry ( 20 Mar 1830 - 5 Apr 1922) are buried in Fork Shoals cemetery as is Benjamin Franklin Perry Kellett and his second wife. I am thinking this is the same Leander Meeks shown on the above census record and am wondering if it is my grgrgrandmothers family ?? If anyone knows of this family I would appreciate any help I could get. Thank you !! Kelly Jane Moon O'Hara ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
