The annual Fisher Family Reunion will be held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Lake Toxaway Baptist Church, Lake Toxaway, NC. This will be the 83nd annual reunion held in the same location. The Fishers have a very long and rich history and have contributed greatly to this community. Descendants last names may be Breedlove, Owen, Burgess, Bryson, Whitmire, Green, McIntosh, Rogers, Reid, Hall, Patterson, Stamey, Searcy, Wilson, McNeely, McCall, Galloway, to name a few. The business and history meeting will begin at 11:00 a.m. with lunch on the church grounds about 12:30 p.m. Bring a covered dish or two, a couple of lawn chairs, your family photo album, your family, and a thirst for knowledge of the familys history. An exciting program has been planned and a very special guest has been invited and there will be special Blue Grass music. The church is located off U.S. 64 on Lake Toxaway Church Road approximately .1 mile west of the Toxaway Falls bridge, approximately .2 miles east of the Toxaway Health Center. I think the Thomas Calloway b. 1825 may be the same as mine. I haven't gotten any further back than him. He was from Greenville and married Mary Jane Hightower in 1853. They had Asa, James, William, Charlotte and Laura before moving to Grainger County TN where they had John, James, Franklin, and Mary Lou. These were born between 1854 and 1879 and the Calloways moved to TN around 1867. I know it has been some years since you posted this message, but I would be interested in comparing notes with you. According to the survey of Springwood which was conducted in the late 1970s, their graves are not marked -- that is, no headstone was found with their names. However, their names appear on the cemetery sexton's list of burials, so it does appear that they were interred somewhere in Springwood. They lived in many of the early "counties" in VA way back in the mid 1600s from London cty, England. I am a direct descendant of about 14 generations. I'm only one of many direct descendants of the colonial Pettypools. There are many researchers of this family. Mine went from VA>NC>upper SC. Judy
