Mamie P. Ross was the daughter of Tillman Chauncy Ross I and Mary Elizabeth "Carolina" Shockley. She was born Jan 23, 1863 and died Feb 1, 1950. Ernest Caldwell Byrd was the son born about 1885. I have yet to find when he died. He married Ophelia Mae Bridwell and they were the parents of Ernest Caldwell Byrd Jr. and Wilton Oscar Byrd. - Tim www.UpstateAncestry.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have a copy of A Strong Tower, Centennial History of the First Baptist Church of Greer, SC, 1880-1980 by Joe Dew Kinard, that I would like to sell or swap for something I could use. I am interested in the Sanders and Wheeler families who were in Greenville County around 1800 and in Bedford County, TN no later than 1813. I could use an indexed 1800 census of Greenville County, a book of deeds or tax lists of that time period. I don't know if such books have been published and would appreciate any information on that subject. Please contact me at carolyngenealogy@aol.com for more information about A Strong Tower. However, the person who has possession of the photo has no idea who the other people are in the photo. There are a few possibilities as to who these people could be. First, since Linc (without a left hand) is standing on the far right, I assume his family is on that end with him. Considering that another man is standing on the far left, I assume those around him are his family. Linc was living with his wife and children in the 1900 census, was in the Greenville County Jail in 1910, was back with his wife and children in 1920 and separated again from his wife in 1930. He was living with his cousin and his family in 1930, but his cousin was 20 years younger than him and I think this photo is older than that. Linc's best friend was his first cousin, Perry Dice Masters. Dice's parents, Ben and Pamelia Patterson Masters, raised Linc (he was Ben's sister Susan's illegitimate son with Ephraim Cassell) as their own. Dice was 13 years younger than Linc, but as I've heard from their descendants, they went everywhere together. I'm wondering if the family in this photo is the family of Dice and Mamie Masters. This photo was more than likely taken in Cleveland, Greenville Co., SC. If ANYONE can tell me who these people are in the attached photo, I certainly would appreciate it. Hope to hear from someone soon! -Dana Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
