I am new to all of the geneological searching but I just visited with my grandparents and I decided I needed to research my grandmothers side of the family. My grandmother is Ina Mae Elmore Jones. I believe that the Ina Mae you have listed under John Charles and Eliza is my grandmother. Her mother is Bessie whom was not listed among the children of John and Eliza. Bessie married Judge Elmore and their only child was my grandmother Ina Mae. According to my grandmother there were just the five children, one boy and four girls. I got information from my grandmother just this past weekend but she could not remember back any further than John and Eliza. I have JOhn and Eliza's children's children if you would like to know their names. I only have their names though. I am really excited to have found your posting. Thanks and maybe we can help each other out!
Sorry, I don't have any further info on Jessie Dean. My source was Sherie Batson. Her email is Batson532@aol.com. I don't know if she has any further infor or might give you a clue on how to proceed. Good luck! Doris Bramlett
Doris, Did Jessie Dean, last child on the list, move to MS and marry Cynthia Graves? Cynthia's family migrated to MS from Ga. Loretta
I am still searching for information on this family. Please e-mail me < lsregan@compsol.net > if you have any information. I am happy to share what little I have.

I am trying to figure out the genealogies of families that use the Christian name BROADUS with the surname KNIGHT (I have found several but don't understand their connections) by finding the point at which these two families joined. My collateral ancestor, Kate JONES, married John BROADUS KNIGHT in GREENVILLE in 1906. I'm trying to find their descendants and have a lot of unravelling to do.

I grew up in West Greenville, around the mill village areas, and most of my relatives still live in Berea. I spent most of my life from 1954 till 1974 in the Berea area. We always went there to get gas, groceries, clothes, haircuts etc......Mom and dad, after WWII, lived from 1945 until 1968 in and around City View, Woodside, Brandon, Westville Heights which is all a few miles from Berea. I can give you specific info about Berea if you would like. As far as the township, it would have been in the Greenville township. But, Berea never was incorporated as city of it's own. Mostly a place in the road called Berea. It grew out from the west side of Greenville as a very nice upper scale neighborhood for those that could afford it after the war. You were something if you lived in Berea after WWII. We would always trick or treat at Berea because they alwyas gave a lot of candy. I had 3 aunts and three uncles that lived in Berea their entire lives, and two aunts that still live there. It still is a pretty nice area. It is pretty much centered about 5 miles west of downtown Greenville. It has its own schools....High school etc....Have you been to the Greenville county library? I know where everything in Berea is located. Just about all the streets and so forth. I guess you would say I know it like the back of my hand. I will say that in Greenville counties west side there are a lot of little areas with names that are not townships. Westville Heights, Brandon, Woodside, Monaghan, City View, Sans Souci etc.....Which streets are you looking for specifically? Let me know. Larry
