    1. [SCGREENV] (no subject)
    2. Tammy, Since you are from Travelers Rest, maybe just maybe, you know something about my ancestors. If you don't mind, I'd like to share my ancestors info with you just in case. My Grandmother was Annie Lee HILL Buffaloe, b. 5/9/1900 in Greenville, SC. Her parents were Rudolph HILL, b. ca. 1873, and his wife, Cassie/Casey, b. ca. 1875. She had siblings, Seister (?), b. ca. 1895; Claude, b. ca. 1896; and Wilbur, b. ca. 1897. Annie Lee HILL married my Grandfather, Clyde Hess Buffaloe, Sr. 12/8/1917 in Greenville, SC. They had 4 children in Greenville before moving to Tennessee in the mid to latter part of the 1920's. The children born in Greenville were Frances Evelyn, b. 2/25/1920; Ruth Hess, b. 5/1/1922; Clyde Hess, b. 7/9/1924; and Leroy, b. 1926(?). Leroy died as an infant and is buried somewhere in Greenville, but I don't know where. After leaving Greenville, SC, my Grandmother supposedly didn't have anymore contact with her family. Towards the end of her life, sometime during the latter 1960's, a couple of her 8 children attempted to locate her family thru notices in the Greenville newspaper. I am told that an Aunt from Travelers Rest responded with a letter detailing information about her family. However, my Grandfather was rather adamant about not wishing to have any further contact with her family, and, unfortunately, the letter has since been misplaced. It saddens me to think my Grandmother went thru her adult life without any contact with her family. She was always rather quiet and that makes me wonder just how unhappy she must have been to be cut off from her family. My Mother and her siblings never knew anything about any of her family and weren't really permitted to ask. If you or anybody else know anything about her family or have any clues whatsoever, I would LOVE to hear from you. Thank you! Angela Betts

    2. My Leopard family lives in Travelers Rest, S.C., however, my grandfather Clyde Leopard was from the Simpsonville area. He died in 1949 when my mother was 9 years old. He worked as a chain gang prison guard and the family lived in Travelers Rest. He married Lillie Belle Turner--her mother was Minnie Evelyn Tucker ! We do have a few last names in common. My grandmothers parents were: Perry Furman Tucker ( son of Thomas and Polly Bishop Tucker ) and Martha Smith ( daughter of Jim and Sarah Bridges Smith ). My grandmothers siblings were: brothers--Jim, Louis and Daniel and sisters--May Tucker Darby and Lizzie Tucker Lynch. My grandmother married George Washington Turner. Unfortunately, I do not have any info of the relatives of my grandfather Clyde Leopard. My own mother died in 1996. I found a piece of yellow legal paper in my mothers handwriting of her mothers side of the family. Does any of this connect to your Leopards and your Tuckers? Thanks, Tammy

When you get to the end at the stop sign, go straight across, that road is also Tubb's Mtn. Rd. That section goes up into a mountainous area known as Tubb's Mtn.. The road comes out on Old White Horse Rd. Ext. I hope this info helps you. Good luck, Tammy
