However, given that she names a son and a daughter Luther and Lucinda is very compelling. Also, the 1820 Census establishes the fact that Louther and Lucinda Hitch had a daughter that was "under age 10" at the time. Given the age of the parents, however, we can assume that Mary Hitch was born circa 1818-1820. This would put her at prime marrying age in 1838 when she would have married Jesse Cook.
