Mastin has a middle initial of "N." according to the following: The South Carolina Magazine of Ancestral Research SCMAR, Volume XX Number 3, Summer, 1992 Marriage, Death, and Estate Notices from the Greenville Mountaineer, January 25, 1850 - June 22, 1904 (Continued from Volume XX, p.72) SCMAR, Vol. XX, Summer 1992, No. 3, p.157 In Equity: Lewis H. P. Moore, C. E. G. D Bec. of this and several other things, I don't think he is Mastin Martin or vice versa. In census reports, etc., I have seen Mastin as Martin, Maston, , but he is always listed with the same family. I think this comes from the unfamiliarity of the name Mastin by these census takers and the fact that folks didn't used to care so much about name spellings. Mastin was born ~1806 when a large number of other men were named Mastin; must have been a popular minister or someone named Mastin that they picked up the name from. I didn't get the equity file from LDS but from the Greenville Library. I haven't used LDS but keep intending to! As far as all those left portions in Micajah's file, the Micajah B. STONE there is the Micajah who md. Millicent "Milly" JOHNSON. The H. BAGWELL may be Hembree STONE, a dau who is unaccounted for in this list. I believe that the rest of those who are not STONES are sons-in-law of Micajah's; it was so common to discount the daus in the estate if she had a husband. He seems to have left a lot of children, certainly not uncommon. I have the info on some of them, but will need to pull some more files. I have just changed computers, and it's made my life difficult! You can email me directly at DMPringle@sc.rr.com, if you would like. Thanks for all your input! It helps me to rethink things! Hello - I have a lot of info on the descendants of William and Mary Whitlock Jones. My info indicates that their son Solomon had a son Hiram who first married a Lydia and second Elizabeth Ann Hammond. I got my info on this family from Chad Williams. I don't have them having a daughter named Rebecca. I Have their children as J. E. Solomon, Joab A., Nancy and Nicey Jones. I have Hiram having a sister Rebecca but she married George S. Sloan. If you have not been in contact with Chad, you might want to contact him. His address is tw5@prism.gatech.edu. His is a high school student who has done unbelievable work on the Jones descendants. He is very kind to share his info. What info do you have on the descendants of William and Mary Whitlock Jones? Good luck in finding info on James P. Wood. Doris Bramlett bramco@aol.com
Michael - I think you did send me what you had. Remember I wrote your Dad at the recommendation of your Uncle Ab and you responded for him. Sure was sorry to hear about Mr. Ab's passing. I really enjoyed meeting him and visiting with him. He was kind enough to have some photos copied for me. He said that he was getting a set made for his nephew and I assumed that this was you. I have made a good headway lately on the many Jones'. I had hoped to get something copied right after Christmas but stumbled into four more family groups that I will be able to get a good bit of info on so will wait a while longer to file in these blanks. If you have anything new since about 4 or 5 months ago, I would love to have the updated info. In turn, I will be glad to share awhat I have with you. I have about 400 pages of names and dates for Jones descendants. Have a great Christmas. Doris Bramlett

I have seen this LDS apartment before. It was my first good clue. But it did raise some interesting questions, such as, who is #3, , #5, #7, #8, #9, #10 and #12 referring to. My other sources think this is the name of the spouse of a daughter. Can't tell. I haven't been able to link any of the names, though I know the Bagwell bunch pretty well. You indicate to me that Martin & Mastin are one in the same. Is that a contention, or have you seen that. I thought it possible that Mastin was a middle name that he went by. Can't tell. Also, #6 could either be Mastin or Micajah B. Jr. I have seen evidence of Micajah B. Jr., but nothing definitive. I would like to know what you hold on both Georges. I have never found anything that places the earlier George in the family of William Stone, but he seems to fit in somewhere and is listed by some researchers (Karen Flowe among them) as being a brother of Micajah B. Clem Stone interests me more than a little. There is a Clem Stone listed on the Cass Co. TX census of 1910. It might not be the same one, but might be a son of the one you're looking at. One thing that's disappointed me is the dearth of information on Blasingame. With a name like that you'd think he'd be mentioned more often. I know hardly anything about him, other than that he existed. Thanks again for helping me out with this. I know how addictive genealogy can be. It's a puzzle with lots of pieces that just don't quite fit. We're all looking for the right pieces and once in a while we find one. That's always a great day. I can still remember when I found my first piece of evidence. I was looking through an old trunk that my grandfather, Pleasant Hardin Stone (II) left. There was an insurance policy application from 1917. It listed his entire known family and their ages. There were a few minor errors on it, but it was a great thrill to confirm some things. It started me looking. That was months and months ago. Since then I've talked to researchers who've been at it for over 20 years. I guess I've found my hobby! Later cousin, Steve

It's hard to find anyone who knows much about that particular line of Stones. I am a descendent of Micajah B.'s brother William H. Until recently I didn't have a clue of Micajah's family lines, then made a small breakthrough. I would like to know whatever you have on the line. I'm trying to follow all the direct family links from William on down. If I ever figure out William's father William, then I'll have a lot more chasing to do. Right now I'm just trying to figure out all the "first family & their descendents. Micajah B. has interested me for a while. I have postulated his middle name as Banister, but never knew. Banister is the name of my g.g.grandfather, a son of William H. I thought that name had to be from somewhere, but couldn't make a link with any of the Banister families. So, I deduce the link as being upstream. If Banister IS his middle name, I'd love to know that. The George I'm asking about is not the son of Micajah, but possibly a son of William - and a brother of Micajah. I assume the George Clement you reference is Micajah's son. Yes??? I had seen Mastin on census records and knew who he married, but couldn't follow him past 1840. I'd love to know more about him. Your cousin, Steve
