See the thread below: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/message/an/surnames.crawford/1744 (sorry, this probably won't show up as a link but you can cut and paste) This John's 3rd son was named Strother, making him possibly related to the Strother Crawford in the early 1800 censuses (perhaps son). If I read your post correctly, you would speculate the following: William or David - William (married Strother) - Moses - Strother - John and sister Nancy. I am interested in any info on the ancestors of John.
Please tell me how you are related to Penuel Wood Jr. Thanks. Wanda Snow Franklin mzsassy3@juno.com wrote: > I am, also, a descendant of Penuel Wood, Jr./Mayfield and I am interested in seeing a copy of Penuel Wood's will as well. > Thank you, > J. Wood >

He married Mary Louise Henson (Kennedy). She took the name of her step father. As far as I know, James & Mary had no daughter to marry a Stewart. James Barr's will does not list his children. The probate only shows to whom money was dispensed. That will was in Jackson Co., Ga. This John Henson was either the brother of Mary Louise Henson or I have told her father had the same name. I have been told her father died before that 1792 and that her brother died about 1825. I have no facts on that at all, except John Henson signed a deed in Jackson Co., Ga. in 1797. I have been told of this will by John Henson in 1792 where he willed his property to James Barr. Everybody talks of it, but nobody seems to know one thing about it. If you have anything on that, I would appreciate hearing from you. Now, there were about 3 James Barr's up in that North Carolina area. I have not proved or disproved kinship of them. I do think one of them had some relationship to the Stewart's. I will dig and send you what I have. If I can be of help, my e-mail is muttla@cs.com. LaVerne
