Some of you may know this cemetery has been called WILSON CEMETERY for many years, You will find in your local library a book titled THE PRESENCE OF THE PAST by Beverly T. Whitmire in 1976. Wilson Cem. is listed as cem number 120 in her book, Mrs. Whitmire states "that vandals had wrecked most of the stones." So the problem in this cemetery is NOT new. Several years after Mrs. Whitmire did her book, a new reading of the Cemetery was done by the Greenville Genealogical Society and was published in Volume 4 (I think have lost my cover page). Just wanted you all to know that much of the info has been saved. Wendy I'm so grateful for your fine effort. Unfortunately too many folk forget their dead. I'm sure there are many grave all around Greer-Greenville-Spartanburg, etc., that have NOT been recorded. This old guy urges you all to be on watch for the abuse of our deceased. Carl Alton Brown
