There are several Ben Boswells, one would be WPZF Neves' great grandfather but my records state that he died in 1825...maybe not the date would roughly fit, though I have them marring before 1790...I wonder if the date on the article is wrong though because in 1844 WPZF Neves would only be nine years old...but again who knows! In 1865 he marries Frances Boswell the daughter of another Ben Boswell. This Ben was married in 1844 and was alive 50 years after his wedding date. His 50th wedding anniversary would have been in March 1894. You are right, I'm sorry, it was late and I had already typed about 10 articles. I went back and looked and I had the other article from that page and it was 1894. Sorry, Cathy

Cathy TIGERVILLE DOTS I commenced this sketch chiefly to speak of the golden wedding of Mr. Ben Boswell and wife. They have raised five sons and four daughters, all of whom are married and have families, except the youngest son, who lives with his parents. They all, except two daughters, with the most of their families, thirty-three in number, met at the old homestead to-day for social enjoyment, which they had in abundance. While the older ones engaged in conversation, the younger ones played games. At 12 o'clock we went to the table, which was found to be long enough for sixteen persons on each side, and was loaded to its full capacity with such things as chickens, turkeys, sweetmeats, different kinds of cakes, oranges and many other things too numerous to mention. Many congratulations and good wishes were extended to! the aged couple on this interesting occasion. W.P.Z.F. Neves.

There are many Samuels in this family. The Samuel that I am researching was born in Pitt Co., N. Car. about 1797 and was living in Greenville Co. S. Car. (1810 census) with his father Henry Kite. He married about 1818 in S. Car, possible to a Trammell daughter who died about 1824 in Gwinnett Co., Ga. (See 1820 census) Two of Samuel's sisters married Trammell men. Nancy Kite married Hiram Trammell and Elizabeth Kite married Hamilton Trammell. Do you have any information on them?

Or his son, also named Gibson Southern? The Revolutionary War pension records for the elder indicate that he died about 1832. His son, John W. Southern "one of six children of Gipson Southern deceased" received $8/month from April 1832 to March 1833. There was correspondence John P. Southern was the son of John W. Southern and corresponded with the War Dept. regarding the pension in 1860.
