Joel m. Ann Cockfield c. 1800 and moved "upstate". Miles C. Puckett's family may have passed through Fairfield, even though he was not there. My Young's (Isaac b. before 1774) settled in Williamsburg Co., SC and were from "someplace North". I have other family that settled in Fairfield, but these are just the main people for which I am searching. M. Young

Three daughters of Bartholomew Austin's family of Fairfield/old Craven County married people with the surnames Hatcher, Busby and Newman. I'm especially looking for descendants of the Hatcher family and hoping to learn the name of the daughter who married an unknown Busby. The Austins were in this area by the mid 1700s and most were gone by 1840. One of Bartholomew's sons had a daughter who married a Gaffney and two who married Robersons. Thanks, Carolyn Cooper
My 2nd great-grandmother, Mary Ann THORNTON (b. about 1825) was a daughter (only daughter/possibly only child) of a William Thornton who died about 1825. His estate was admitted to probate in Fairfield Co., SC in 1825. I seek any additional information about this family. Thanks, Dennis Smith -- No virus found in this outgoing message. I sent this last night but never saw it posted; maybe I made an error in the email address. Here goes: In the spirit of a roll call, here are my family names from Fairfield County: Ford Peay Burge Love Arledge Bailey Graham Also, I ask that everyone please check their records for a girl in your Fairfield County families who is named Susanna and was born 19 July 1789. She is my third great-grandmother, and she married Dorrel Ford ca. 1812/13, but I have been unable to find her maiden name. When she signed a dower release about 1830, she signed herself "Susan Ford," although my family records show her as Susanna. She died the day after she gave birth to her 9th child in Greene County, Alabama on 27 September 1834. Please, please check for me. Thaniks to all of you Fairfield researchers.
