    3. Thanks Drew, I don't know if they are all the same family or not. If the earlier censuses gave relationships, we could figure this out. Bloomer/Blumer White Sr. had sons Jonathan and John. The Jno may be Jonathan. NOPE, son John d. Bef. Sep 28, 1824, which was when Bloomer wrote his will and son was deceased. One Bloomer White b. before 1765 had children Jonathan, John, William, Elizabeth, Martha, Tabitha and others. They would have been born between 1785 - 1816 or so with 12 children, estimating born 3 years apart, which is probably too much of a spread and beginning when Blumer White was 20 years old. [children named in Will of Blumer White, Sr] But some of the women in the censuses you sent may have been wives .....? CENSUS: 1880 Talbert township, Edgefield, SC, p. 398B [ Source: FHL Film 1255228 National Archives Film T9-1228] Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace John WHITE Self M W W 97 SC Occ: At Home Fa: SC Mo: SC Elizabeth WHITE Dau F S W 65 SC Fa: SC Mo: SC Sarah A. WHITE Dau F W 60 SC Fa: SC Mo: SC Looks like most of Talbert township area is NOW in McCormick Co, SC, but I just copied a death cert. that gave address as McCormick, Talbert Co., Rural Edgefield Co. So some remained in Edgefield. John's parents, Bloomer and Sarah Jane Brooks White, had daughters Elizabeth and Sarah as sisters to Jonathan. So maybe Jonathan named his daughters after his sisters. [ [Misc. Wills in Edgefield Co, Book C., 1817-1835 , transcribed by the WPA. , Will of Bloomer White, proven 3/16/1825.] My personal direct transcriptiion of copy of probate records (will & accountings) includes the following: " It is also my will and desire that my son Blumer White should pay out of the estate to my other children (viz) Rebecca, Daniel, Sarah, Abner, Tabitha, Jonathan and Martha five shillings each and also to the heirs of my deceased children (viz, to the heirs of Stephen White, Sr. five shillings, to the heirs of John White, five shillings, to the heirs of Valentine White, five shillings and to the heirs of my daughter Elizabeth Harrison five shillings: " The following was posted by John Furgueron Oct 2002 furg@juno.com Blumer White b ca 1761 Bruns. I can do that if they stayed in Edgefield Co. Sure you were not interested in all of this, but it helps me to think to go thru and put it all in print. I think better with my fingers, as my brain does not always catch on with one reading anymore. Thanks again for checking and trying to help me with the question on John White, age 97 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Drew Smith" <drewsmithtpa@gmail.com> To: <scsaluda@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 19, 2006 11:29 PM Subject: Re: [SCSALUDA] 1880 Edgefield - John White, age 97 > Billie, > > The 1870 census for Talbert shows 82-year-old John White, 50-year-old > Elizabeth, and 48-year-old Martha, plus 88-year-old Mary. > > The 1860 census for Abbeville County shows a 77-year-old Jno White, living > in the household of 45-year-old Wm C.
