I need help to determine if this obit contains the info. I need to connect him to the Ethel Still that I have in my file. I have in my files one Ethel Still b. Abt. 1891 d/o Abner Washington Still and Susan Harriett 'Hattie' Sample. Does anyone have proof that she is the same Ethel Still who is the mother listed in the obit of William Kinniard Allen? Billie Jones tjones@camden.net ------------------------------------------------ The following obituary was published in The State Newspaper, Columbia, SC FRIDAY, MARCH 9, 2007 William Kinniard Allen EDGEFIELD - Mr. William Kinniard Allen, 86, of Meeting St. Rd., died Wednesday 3-7-07 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Edgefield First Baptist Church with burial in Eastview Cemetery. Mr. Allen was the son of the late Ethel Still and Steve Holland Allen. He graduated from Johnston High School and served in the Civil Conservation Corps and was a staff sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II. He retired from Milliken after 35 years service. He was a member of the American Legion Hezzie Griffis Post #30 and the Edgefield First Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Allen was an avid Gamecock fan, attending every home game for 20 years, and he had personally recorded the daily weather and local rainfall for the last 40 years. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jessie Parker (Becky) Allen, one son, William Greg Allen and his wife, Kathy; two grandchildren, Nicole and Jessica Allen, all of Edgefield. Mr. Allen was predeceased by two brothers, Steve and Lester Allen, and five sisters, Hannah Lewis, Mattie Morgan, Lena Cockrell, Mays Byrd and Rosa Bledsoe.
