I have just found a census record that has me puzzled. CENSUS: 1880 Edgefield Co, SC p. 111- Coleman Township hh#450 [living next to William S. and her daughter, Nancy E. Rambo Rauton.] Sophronia Rambo, self, 52 F W SC Galon Rambo, son, 16, M W SC I have her as Sophronia Styron, the 2nd wife of Jesse Rambo. He first married Emily Bledsoe ca 1820. She died Sep 21, 1857. Now here is the problem..... Galon's age puts him born ca 1864. I have Jesse's death date as Dec 01, 1859. [That date is from a file sent to me] The 1860 Mortality Census, Edgefield Co. gives his date of death as Nov., rather than Dec. His wife was living at the time of his death. He was age 64, born SC, a Farmer who died suddenly of Palsy. Now it is obvious from the dates that Galon was born after the death of Jesse Rambo, and too far after to be possible (5 yrs). Wonder if this is a grandson, instead of a son??? Heritage Quest does not have the 1880 census finished, and I cannot see the actual image to interpret it for myself.
