Okay, all you knowledgeable Edgefield researchers out there, I would appreciate any comments or information regarding the family below. This is my working theory. Thanks Drew William Morris was a legatee of Reuben Holloway who died in 1806. (Penniah Holloway and the Legatees of Reuben Holloway, Bond and Agreement, Edgefield District, South Carolina Deed Bk 27: 293-296). I think Reuben and Phenniah had a daughter Jane born about 1783 and that she married William Morris. I believe the Frances who married Williamson Riley (see 1850 census below) was Frances Morris, daughter of Jane and William. Frances Riley was named as a niece in Caleb Holloway's will (Caleb Holloway will (1840), Edgefield District, South Carolina Will Bk D: 115-119). This Caleb was the son of Reuben Holloway. Williamson Riley household, 1850 U.S. Census, Edgefield District, South Carolina, p. 33 (stamped), family no. 506. Williamson Riley, age 35; Francis, age 37 female; Mary E., age 13; M.J. female age 11; Thomas J. Riley, age 5; James Parkman, age 15; Jane Morris, age 67.
