Marriage date pre 1828 when first known child was born. Matthew Melton was son of McKinney Melton and Martha -----; born 16 Sept 1807 Edgefield Dist SC; died 7 May 1897, Marion Co GA; also buried Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Children to this marriage were: Louisa Jane, Martha Ann, Mary Ann, Richard Wiley. Since the marriage date appears to be when she was over 25 years old, I wonder if she was married before her marriage to Matthew.
