Good afternoon, All. A number of my cousins from SC went to Freestone County, Texas, from Alabama, particularly about 1850 . Yesterday I stumbled on the Americus L. DANIEL family there in the 1910 census when I was looking for Clara FRYER and husband A. J. BROWNE. Two things caught my attention: the children's names Sumter and Bryan, and that Americus' family lived between two families of my cousins, that of Addison Jubilee BROWNE and wife Clara FRYER, a descendant of Josiah L. and Mary Daniel DANIEL of Edgefield, SC and George W. FRYER, Clara's brother, whose mother Martha Elizabeth "Lizzie" DANIEL, dau of William Frances DANIEL and Frances RIDDLE, lives in his household. The three censuses below track Americus and show his father as "Steven", born abt 1830 in SC. I can't connect him to one of my DANIEL lines, but he may be a son of Stephen DANIEL, b. abt 1793, son of William and Lucretia Bell DANIEL of Edgefield. At this point, I have no other information on Stephen, b. 1793. Any assistance in identifying the family line of this Americus L. DANIEL greatly appreciated. 1880 T9-1304 page 599C S. A.
