    3. Descendants of both Geigers and Threewits have been arguing about "who Emily married" for well over a century! Some branches believe that she'd married Llewellin Threewits, although she certainly did not. He was married to Ann Mary Geiger as of 1786, had his only child by second wife Eleanor Fitzpatrick in 1789. No time to work in another wedding in that same year. The person most-commonly identified as the husband of Emily Geiger is John Threewits. He is known to have had a single wife Mary Thomas (by whom he had no children), and there is some reason to believe that they were married prior to 1786. Or, at least that SHE was, if not necessarily to him! There are quite a lot of self-contradictory documents regarding all these genealogies (most of which are fictional) posted at: http://sciway3.net/clark/revolutionarywar/geigeroutline.html. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, December 07, 2004 5:01 PM Subject: Emily Geiger and ? 3. Good evening, Harriet. Thank you for answering the question posed concerning Emily GEIGER and ? THREEWITS. The website you provided is one that I'd also found. It is very informative about the controversy and contributed to my knowledge of the THREEWITS family. Mr. A. S. SALLEY, Jr. appeared to have the better of the exchange there. After gleaning all I could from the site, put this comment into my General Notes on Llewellyn THREEWITS, b. 1789?, d. 1814 in Edgefield, SC: "NOTE: There is controversy about this family and its ties to Emily GEIGER, said to be a heroine of the Revolutionary War, which may be affecting both names of individuals and dates in this family. This compiler takes no position on the controversy, trying only to use documented facts. The contentions are addressed at http://sciway3.net/clark/revolutionarywar/geigeroutline.html. What is certain, is that Llewellyn Williamson THREEWITS married Catherine DANIEL." Source documentation on Emily would be most welcome. An advanced education in THREEWITS may be coming, looking forward to it. Regarding Harriet's comment "Llewellin Threewits... was married to Ann Mary Geiger as of 1786, had his only child by second wife Eleanor Fitzpatrick in 1789." This Llewellin and second wife Eleanor Fitzpatrick THREEWITS were the parents of the Llewellyn Williamson THREEWITS above. I'd not found Llewellyn's first marriage to Ann Mary GEIGER. Thank you.
