Billie, Re: Wm. Raburn Estate, Apartment 60, Package 2484, Film 162268 listed in your email below, I ordered this record from Edgefield County Archives in 1999. Yes, it is the William Raburn who married Susannah LOVELACE. His son, Henry B. Raburn, petitioned the court and was named Administrator after William RABURN died intestate in 1848. The estate settlement was in 1849. There are quite a few pages in this package. Thomas JONES and John ROTTON are listed on one of the documents along with H. B. RABURN binding them for $1,000 to do the inventory of the estate. Another document names Wm MOBLEY, Daniel MATHENY, Martin McCARTY and A. M. PADGETT appraisers. There is a long list of articles sold, name of purchaser and the amount paid to the estate. There is also included a sworn statement by Susannah RABORN requesting payment from the Estate of John MARTIN to the estate of Wm RABURN the amount of $2.00 for one week and one month's washing (I assume laundry.) John HILL, Esq., O! rdinary of Probate, Edgefield District, was the official who handled the petitions. On the list of buyers at the sheriff's sale, one name appears to read J. C. ROTTON, one Joseph ROTTON, on a couple of items each. I'll be happy to provide more information on these documents. They are on legal size paper so I'm not sure I could scan them to you very well but I could get copies made for you.
