What I have started doing in this case is, (Outlook Express) I set up my "message rules" (in tools) to automatically "copy" all my surname and county, etc emails to a separate folder, (similar to the way a spam filter does incoming spam), and occasionally open that folder and use "find" and search all my surnames and any other search words that pertain to my lines. I get dozens of mails a day from many different lists and it's might near impossible to read them all. Obviously everyone's incoming stuff would vary so just use your imagination on how to set up the most efficient sub folders so you can catch as much info as possible. You can refine and improve your methods whenever you see fit. Or: Periodically you could just drag and drop all gen mails into a folder and use your search words. Or: Flag or color incoming mails that contain certain names/words in the message body. It's not perfect but I have caught little things that would have slipped by otherwise. No brickwalls downed,,,,,,,yet. Any other ideas here on this would be greatly appreciated. > I have seriously considered unsubscribing from this list because the e-mails > are not identified. Some folks not putting in pertinent info in the subject line is a never ending problem that's here to stay, they aren't gonna change so just have deal with it the best way possible. IE in the STEVENS forums/lists one enters "Stevens Question" in subject line,,,,well duh,, names, dates, places in subject would certainly help all concerned. I spend as much thought on subject line info as I do the message. Seems like it would be a no brainer. Heck, I want results and I want them rat now. > Until I do unsubscribe, I will continue to delete most of the > e-mails because they do not identify themselves. Don't unsubscribe before trying the above. It takes only a few minutes to set up a few message rules for gen filters/folders and might pay off some day. jerry stevens jackson ms STEVENS / STEPHENS / BRINSON / DEAR / BURNHAM / MULLICAN
