    3. Hello List, I've seen several messages posted to this list regarding Keys from Edgefield. I am not descended from the Keys nor the McNatts but found the following entries in the book "Grave Markers in Burke County, Georgia" by Lillian Lewis Powell, Dorothy Collins Odom, and Albert M. Hillhouse; published 1974 by the Chalker Publishing Company of Waynesboro, GA. The additional information about the persons below was included in the book. Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery [no location given] Rev. Joshua Key Feb. 9, 1786 to Nov. 11 1862 b. Edgefield Dist., S.C. md. 1st Elizabeth Tarkersley, 1806; 2nd Martha Barksdale of Edgefield Dist., 1811; 3rd Elizabeth Marshall Scott; 4th Mrs. Mary McNatt. f/o Rev. Thomas D. & Capt. Joshua S., by second marriage. Note: Some data above are from the earlier research of Mrs. Anne MacKenzie Humphrey (ed). Joshua Scott Key Sep. 2, 1817 to Dec. 12, 1876 s/o Rev. Joshua Mrs. Mary McNatt Key 1790 to 1871 w/o Rev. Joshua md. Jne 22, 1823. By first marriage she was the mother of Adam McNatt. Will Bk A 342-44. See Bath Cemetery for her son and his family (ed).
