I just checked online census..... show computer and don't do much online research, but I think I found the parents of Douglas and siblings. I find a Douglas, age unreadable but in 20s or 30s, in 1930 still living at home with Parents The census page (forgot to negotiate the page over to the corner to get the page number, but it was Saluda Co, township 7, District 19, and contined almost the entire page of Bledsoes. hh#351 Jessie Bledsoe, M W 68, married at age 21 born SC Georgia Bledsoe, wife F W 66 married at age 19, born SC Douglas Bledsoe, son M W could not read age, Single, born SC Allie Bledsoe, son M W could not read age, Single, born SC Geneva TURNER, daughter, F W 38 divorced, born SC Jessie Turner, g-son, M W 1 yr 1 mo, b. Marriage didn't last long it would seem, with a 1 year old in the house, unless father kept older children, which didn't happen much back then. Bledsoe researchers, am I on the right track? ----------------------------------------------------------- Mike also wrote: Lula Turner, wife of Walter F. Rearden, was the mother of my Great Aunt, Kate Rearden who later married my Great Uncle, Robert Lee Powell, in Johnston, SC Until today, I did not know what Lula's maiden name was, until I put it all together. I would have posted this to the list, but didn't remember the address without looking it up. ------------------- Thanks Mike for the above. I had Kate and Robert Lee Powell, and I had Lula Turner and Walter F. Rearden, but I did not have them as the parents of Kate and did not know her last name. So.... we helped each other out. I will post the info. to the lists. Billie
