He came to Emanuel County, GA., in 1842, and was married there about 1849 to Caroline MEEKS,, born abt 1827 Emanuel County, daughter of Redding (and Lucy) MEEKS. Their Children: 1. OVERSTREET) Joshiah WOOD enlisted in Co E of the 4th Georgia Cavalry, CSA in November, 1862, but was discharged on disability on Octpber 26, 1863, this, according to his pension application made in 1898. He moved his family to Coffee county (part now in Atkinson) during or soon after the "War of Northern Agression" and lived there until his death. He died Ray City, Berrien County, in 1917 while visiting there with some of his family; he was buried there His wife died in 1903 and was buried at Antioch Church, near Kirkland, Coffee County (now found in Atkinson County) Children of JOSIAH WOOD are: i.
