The Family Bible of Samuel Walker, jr, of Edgefield SC and Madison County, AL, is now transcribed in print and available online at: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/r/u/s/Judith-F-Russell/index.html with the kind permission of the this month's edition of the QUILL, journal of the Old Edgefield District Genealogical Society, mailed November 1, 2004. Samuel Walker, jr, was the son of Samuel and Martha-Jefferson Bell Walker of Edgefield SC in Revolutionary Times. The Bible lists formerly unknown birth and death dates for Samuel Jr, and for his sisters. It also clears up some previously noted discrepancies in the Edgefield records as well as confirms the link to the Bell family of Albemarle Parish. Two otherwise unknown siblings are listed. Our heartfelt thanks go to Emmitte Walker of Austin TX, owner of the Bible pages, who arranged for the photocopying and transmission of the pages, which have been in his family for over 150 years.
