The last Will and Testament of JOHN SCOTT, deceased of Savannah River, dated 4th January 1780, was probated 23d of Novr. 1782 by SAMUEL BOYD, one of the subscribing witnesses, the other witnesses JOHN DOGLASS, JOHN BOYD and JOHN SHARPTON. The executors SAMUEL and JAMES SCOTT. SAMUEL SCOTT qualifying as Executor 23d Novr. 1782, granted Letters of Testamentary. Warrant of appraisement, dedimus to J. MIDDLETON, Esq. to qualify appraisers. 3d Feb 1783, Inventory and appraisement with a list or Schedule, returned and filed. Recorded in pages 61 and 62 of this Book. Page 61 Inventory and appraisement of the estate of JOHN SCOTT late of 96 District, Testor, deceased, made 12-5-1782 by JAMES THOMAS, JOESPH THOMAS and WILLIAM RENNOLDS, sworn appraisers, SAMUEL SCOTT, acting Executor of the same. 6 slaves, stock, tools, furniture, provisions, 22 books and a pistol, and a pair of "money scales". Amounting to L2165.19.0. Examined and certified by PAT. CALHOUN, Surrogate. A list of accounts and debts due the estate of JOHN SCOTT, taken 2-3-1783 by SAMUEL SCOTT, acting executor and returned by him to this office. JOHN COCOCK. Bond dated 12-15-1779, due 1-1-1781 in paper currency with interest Tested by SEABORN JONES-L16000 ANDREW MOORE's bond dated 1-28-1779. due 1-1-1781 paper currency and interset. Tested by SAMUEL SCOTT-L6161 ANDREW MOORE'S note of L58.16 Sterling (Specie) dated 5-27-1780, due two monts after date-411.12 ROBERT BRYAN'S note of L137.15. Specie dated 8-17-1780, balance due now. 125.11.3 ANDREW MOORE'S note of 5 half Jow? Dated 5-29-1780, due three weeks after date. ANDREW MOORE'S note of 1000 Continental Dollars dated 1-10-1780 due 5 days after date. Examined and certified by PAT: CALHOUN, Surogate. N.B. no sales of said estate returned to this office. Page 51 Will of JOHN SCOTT, Granville County, State of South Carolina, being weak in body. To SAMUEL SCOTT, "eldest son, 300 acres in Richmond County, GA granted in my name 5-4-1773, also 19 negroes, and 1/2 all moveable property, stocka nd cash. To youngest son JAMES SCOTT, 200 acres in Georgia on Savannah River, granted in two tracts and joining each other, both granted 7-5-1774 and 19 negores, half of moveable property, cash.
