According to the Bland Family (Albert Turner), John Priestly Bland married Martha Adaway Cogburn, daughter of John M Cogburn, Jr and Letitia "Lettie' Still. Martha was born 18 Sep 1814. I don't have a death date at this time. I think you meant Sarah Bland. I have no indication from the Bland family that her name had anything to do with the Strom's. Sarah was born 6 July 1835 and died 12 Sep 1888 and is buried with Mansfield in the Graniteville Cemetery, They had at least 5 children, maybe more. --=======45FF4FE======= Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; x-avg=cert; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-6B4454B5 Content-Disposition: inline --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Not that there is any significance to who sells land to whom, but later in the HARRISON FAMILY history I am keying, I have: "On Dec. 1, 1880, Mary s. Collins sold her 47 acres of land to James Harrison Strom, grandfather of the present [sic] governor of South Carolina. She gave her address as Graniteville, SC in Aiken County (book 5, p. 462). In 1884 William and Susan Mayson sold their land to James H. Strom and in 1886 Nancy and William Mathis sold their land to the same J.H. Strom. Nancy Mathis was Nancy Elizabeth sister of Mary Susannah." --Jessica -----Original Message----- From: Dr Constance T McNeill [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, May 28, 2004 9:03 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: The Family of Archie M Dean 1878 --=======45FF4FE======= Content-Type: text/plain; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-6B4454B5; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Thanks Linda for putting all this together.
