    3. The following letter was written to Miss Harriet "Hattie" Lake, daughter of Elias Lake from her cousin Nancy Ann Tolbert of Edgefield, SC in 1867. Hattie had recently moved from Edgefield to Louisiana with her family. The Misses Nevitt, Crosby, and Clark are all siblings of my ancestors from Anderson, SC and would have been probably second or third cousins of Hattie Lake as they all had either Hutchison grandparents or g-grandparents . I would like to know who the Mrs J. Hutchison in the letter was. Below is the only relevant part of the letter-- 11 May 1867. from Nancy Ann Tolbert to Cousin Hattie.... "Some of your cousins, Miss Nevit, Miss Crosby, and Miss Clark, from Anderson, spent last week with Mrs. Huchison. They made particulaar enquiries asfter you, and regretted so much not having seen you. They spent a day with aunt Mary. Miss Nevet was at college with cousin Sarah. The little girl that was with her mother, to see you, so long since, is now a charming young lady. Mrs. J Huchison is at G., with Mrs. Manly, has been with her some time...." I won't take up bandwidth with the relationship chart, but anyone who is interested can go to this link: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=DESC&db=johanson&id=I19700 As my Clarke ancestors of Anderson SC have been a mystery, I've always wondered if there is an Edgefield connection. As for the Mrs J. Hutchison living in Edgefield, I have wondered what connection she had with Jean Hutchison Lake and her descendents in Edgefield. Any information would be appreciated.
