I have been working on the Matthews family in Edgefield, SC and am wondering if someone could help me with the 1850 Census of Edgefield, SC showing a Eliza Matthews age 9 living with Catharine Inabinet. Catharine is #281 281 on the census and Uriah Inabinet is #282. Is this his mother? I know that Uriah's wife is Louisa Banks. Now to make this even more complicated why is Mary Quarles Matthews household showing Emma and Josephine Banks as living there. I believe they are children of Julius Banks. How does he connect with the Matthews family and why are these children living here? There is also a Dorothy Lockford living with them. Who is she?
