    3. Laurens County Deed Book B (1786-90) contains multiple references to Jacob Bowman (Sr. and Jr.), Sarah (wife of Jacob Sr.) and John, living on the Reedy River in Laurens Co. Laurens Plat Book B mentions the Wardlaw/Wardlow family as county residents, does not provide first names. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, June 01, 2004 8:41 PM Subject: Re:(Edgefield) Reedy River Thanks everyone, now I just have to figure out if this person belongs in Laurens or Greenville Co SC. Does anyone recognize the names Wardlaw and Bowman and can you put them in a specific area???? > Sandra

    3. The Reedy River starts in northernmost Greenville County and pretty much runs all through the county, then into Laurens Co. and on - I believe - until it runs into the Saluda River somewhere west of Columbia, SC, but I'm not sure exactly where - possibly lower Laurens Co. You will find deeds citing the Reedy in both Greenville and Laurens Counties as well as deeds in Old 96 Dist., Abbeville, and even some from Old Spartanburg. This happens due to what I call "fluid boundaries." These are lines that continually change, but the folks may not have actually moved! Our little state had loads of people coming through (migrating in and migrating out), and it went through many changes in just a few short decades! Hope this helps some of you out there who find it easy to get confused in SC! God bless, Dolores Miller Pringle - my families just came through and stopped!!!
